Diving

Coral reefs along the coast of Marsa Alam is a real treasure for divers. Here you can get close to dolphins, bottle-nosed dolphins, turtles, various species of sharks, parrot fish and the beautiful, but endangered, Dugong, also known as "sea cow", not to mention the countless varieties colored corals.
While the dive sites near Sharm and Hurghada are suffering from overcrowding, Marsa Alam still enjoys a relative "peace", with a barrier to a large extent still little known by divers.

The best conditions for diving are during the summer months, when the average water temperature exceeds 30 degrees Celsius, even if in January you have pleasant temperatures of 24 degrees. Consequently, a wet suit of 3 mm is suitable for the period from May to September, while a wet suit of 5 mm would be more appropriate during the relatively colder months.
The winter months from December to February, also tend to have long periods with rough seas and rough.

When planning the trip you must be aware that during the months of April and May, the underwater visibility can be affected negatively by the rich presence of seasonal plankton. You need to know that Marsa Alam can be a windy place (usually more than Hurghada), especially during the winter months. The Paradise Club Shoni Bay anyway offers a good shelter especially for less experienced divers.

At the Paradise Bay Club Shoni you can rent snorkeling equipments.
